Achieving economic security, building mastery, and feeling a deep sense of fulfillment. All while building healthy relationships and making healthy lifestyle choices..most of the time.
Like many young people these days, I had minimal guidance about what direction to take my life. I attended the University of Washington right after high school, mainly because my brother went there (bad reason).
I changed my major three times in college (whoops), taught English in Eastern Europe, worked in film in Los Angeles, went to grad school, dropped out of grad school, started two businesses with a friend, all while feeling pressure to ‘figure it out’ without really knowing how.
Though my journey was exciting, I lacked a coherent strategy to build economic success doing what I was great at and loved. This resulted in missed opportunities, pivots, breakups, breakdowns, and a lot of ‘back to the drawing board’ brainstorming.
Struggling to keep my second business afloat in my mid 30s, I decided it was finally time to create a long-term strategy. I invested in a career coach and for the first time, mapped my life out with intention. I finally felt clear about how to build economic security and while feeling engaged and purposeful in the process.
This led me to get my ICF coach certification and help people like you design your own dream life so you can avoid many of the pitfalls I endured. This is not to say I don’t experience struggles or doubts. I certainly do. But now the struggles are in service to a broader vision, so I welcome them as part of the journey without quitting, because my 'why' is so clear. To me, a dream life is full of abundance and joy, with a healthy dose of discomfort and growing pains.
Whether you are in high school or well into your 30s and are anxious about your future, I feel for you, cause I’ve been there.
One big struggle I had that you likely have is facing immense pressure to have it ‘figured out’, meaning a clear path to success, full engagement, abundant social life, etc. What’s frustrating is you probably lacked practical guidance on how to get there. (I sure did, as did many of my peers) Naturally, this leads to worry, overwhelm, indecision, shame, stalling out, etc. The truth is, winging it just isn’t a wise strategy.
What you need is a process to design your life with intention. You need to gather data about yourself so you can make practical and inspiring decisions. You need a roadmap and encouragement to take those first few steps.
That’s what I can help you create. There’s too many risks to just wing it. I’ve seen countless people falter this way. I want to help you build a foundation that provides a clear route to abundance, growth, impact, and happiness.
If you are grappling with uncertainty and pressure about where to direct your life, let’s work together to design a life and career that offers excitement and momentum in the short-term, and prosperity and fulfillment in the long-term.
